It took me a while to put together a decent year ender post. Just like every other writer, my mind goes into hibernation mode too. I have been so busy that the little chunk of time I said I'll set aside for writing, becomes rest time for me instead. So here goes my feeble attempt at sharing with you a life changing post. Haha!
All of us bid 2014 a bittersweet goodbye - I have, with all my happy and painful memories listed down the highlights of my 2014 and how I've learned valuable lessons that I hope to put to good use this 2015.
CHOI'S 1ST BIRTHDAY & HIS CHARITY BIRTHDAY PARTY. When you become a Mom, you'd want to give everything to your child. Fancy celebrations, expensive stuff and all that jazz, but then again, I have learned that it is more important to instill more meaningful traditions to your child. Simple, inexpensive and valuable things.
My baby boy - CHOI! |
A Blessing for A Blessing: Alejandros' Charity Birthday Party |
"A Blessing For A Blessing". That's how I chose to celebrate my boys' 1st birthday. A party held at Assosacion De Damas De Filipinas. I together with my family and friends, DIY'd the event and we were able to pull off the party for just under P10,000.00!
When my kid turned 1, that's how I started to pray that time slow down a little and that's when I vowed to make sure to be there for him in all the developments and milestones in his life.
FINDING MY PASSION AND ENJOYING & EXPLORING THEM TOGETHER. I was in a limbo for so many years. Jumping from one job to another, one hobby to another and yet, I felt dissatisfied. I felt empty and I knew that I was bound to do better things.
Blogging. Writing. Always have and always will be my #1 passion. |
I started blogging in 2004. I find writing relaxing, satisfying and rewarding. It's like keeping an online diary and talking to an old friend at the same time. Thank you 2014, Millie and May for helping me go mainstream, for bringing me along and inviting me to events, meeting new friends, learning things, receiving presents and having people read and share pieces of my life's moments. These makes me excited for 2015.
Blogapalooza. Sister Secrets. Bloggers ng Pinas. Certified Bloggers. Mommy Bloggers Philippines. Bloggers on the Go. Women in Tech. All these and more opened doors for me when I decided to pursue blogging again! And I've never been more happy!
At your service! In charge of the Health And Sanitation Committee |
Being able to organize events for our constituents |
Public service. The ability to make a difference in other people's lives, being an instrument in changing the status quo one step at a time, gives me fulfillment like no other job can. I am thankful for being given another term to share what I know, meet generous sponsors so we can put together more projects that will benefit our constituents.
This is what I know now - no matter how small your role is, you are significant - without you, without each and everyone of us - the cycle is incomplete. It's good to keep that in mind whenever you feel worthless.
SKIN PHILOSOPHIE UK + ENDLESS POSSIBILITIES. I am glad to have met Tita Grace and Dra. Kyla and for the opportunity given to me to become their Skin Care Ambassador and their Social Media PR Manager. For someone who's just new to this industry, I am mighty glad I followed my instinct. One appointment turned into a million possibilities! Now, I only trust Dra. Talens with my skin!
HABITAT FOR HUMANITY. Being a volunteer as an online champion is just as fulfilling as being physically present to build houses. I have always wanted to volunteer, I just didn't know how and where and now that I am here - I vow to make it a habit!
MY 1ST EVER BAZAAR EXPERIENCE. Being able to earn profit, meeting new friends, experiencing the joys of being a bazaarista, were all unforgettable. I plan to make it a yearly habit. There is much joy in experiencing new ventures mommies!
These are just some of the highlights of my 2014. A lot has happened and I will forever be grateful for all the blessings God has bestowed upon me last year. And as I try my best to end this post with a quotable quote or with a bang, I realized, the highlights of my 2014 poses no competition with the highlights of my life: MY FAMILY, MY BEST FRIENDS AND MY SON!
My Family |
Me and My Boy! |
My high school best friends! |
So, thank you 2014, for everything...hello 2015! I am ready for you! Here's a quote I came up with to sum up how 2015 will be for me:
as i bid a bittersweet goodbye to another year...i'd like to say thanks 2014 for all the lessons in pain, hardships & survival...you have truly been a revelation! i have gained and lost friends, found my passion & got rid of time consuming stuff in my life that i didn't need...i am claiming 2015 as the year i'd be able to pay off all my debts, be it material, financial or emotional...this is the year i get rid of people who cause unnecessary drama in my life...this year will be more about FOCUS, GROWTH & STRENGTH. This is the year I won't let any single negative thing bring me and my hopes down! Welcome 2015! Happy new year! #rolledin2onemom #realizations #newyear #2015 |
