Going Pro: For Mompreneurs by Mommy Mundo

I quit my job at a bank before getting pregnant with Choi. When I gave birth, I had tons of bills to pay and I knew setting money aside for baby needs is a priority too. My kagawad pay isn't enough to cover other needs as I have constituents who come to me for financial aid too.

That's when Shopper Stop Online was born. Needless to say, I went through birth pains of putting up a business. Up to now, I'm still confused with tax stuff and income/expenses issues.

While browsing through my Facebook newsfeed, I stumbled upon an e-vite entitled "Going Pro: A Mommy Mundo Event". Can I just say, thank God for Mommy Mundo! A group of very helpful moms who aim to help mompreneurs like me. Indeed, Mom's The World! Though the invite said it was only for expectant moms and dads, I couldn't pass up the opportunity since I'm sure that it is very helpful to  me and my biz.

The event was held at the cozy resto, OTKB (Olive Tree Kitchen and Bar) located at B3 Bonifacio High Street. A place conducive to learning about putting up a business, taxes and other money matters.

Mommy Mundo's Joyce Villanueva headed the event with expert speakers from Full Suite (http://full-suite.com) - business consultancy firm that can help mompreneurs like me to organize my biz.

The discussion centered mostly on how to set up a creative business, getting permits, licenses and their corresponding fees. The second part revolved around the nitty gritty of money matters such as bookkeeping, taxes and a bit about intellectual property laws.

The event was sponsored by EPSON, they offer  affordable label printers for organizing your files and portable printers for your marketing materials, Mommy Matters who sell nursing wears for mommies, (http://www.mommymatters.ph) and Nurture Nook - a shop that offers mom tested brands from maternity solutions, baby wears, cloth diapers and more! (http://nurturenookshop.com)

It was indeed one of the most productive and eye-opening three hours of my mompreneur life. Everything that I needed to know and was clueless about when I started doing business, the Mommy Mundo team shed light on.

For all your business needs, from starting up, operating and growing your brainchild, visit www.full-suite.com and to keep up with all of their helpful mommy and daddy events, follow Mommy Mundo on Instagram: @mommymundo, you can also like their Facebook Page: Mommy Mundo and visit www.mompreneurmanila.com

I said I will spread my wings and grow my network, I also vowed that I will take it upon myself to learn about everything that I need to learn as a mom, a blogger and a woman - that is how this event and Mommy Mundo are helping me, one step at a time.
