Benefits of Orange and Lemons

I have decided to go down the infused water road. Every day, I try to come up with simple recipes with the fruits I have handy inside the fridge. Especially since my mom bought me a dozen mason jars to make my infused water experience a little more attractive. 

Before I share some of the recipes on my blog, I want to enumerate the benefits of the fruits that I'm going to use so that others will be enticed to go down this road with me too. Today's featured fruits: ORANGE and LEMONS. Instead of using them on your vodkas and margaritas, try it with the best drink ever created on earth: water. But then again, that's a different story. So here it goes:

Oranges:
Contains flavonoids that are in the peel and orange juice
It stimulates the immune system providing protection against fungi and other pests
Helps reduce cholesterol levels
It prevents pneumonia, bronchitis, asthma and kidney stones

Lemon:
Keeps kidney healthy
High in Vitamin C
Slows weight gain
It has citric acid that maintains proper body pH. Keeping your body pH within the ideal range helps prevent cancer, heart disease, fatigue and a variety of other health issues. 

I'd like to call them "fruit of life". With all these benefits, I can consider them a natural way to prolong life. Forget about the expensive fad diets, most of these are available right under our fingertips, inside our homes, inside the fridge!
