Local Cravings Satisfied At LOCAVORE: The Newest Gastropub In Pasig

One of the things I love about being a blogger is getting to try new places and spaces everywhere that offer unforgettable experience, good food and awesome service. Recently, that experience happened to me again.

Perfectly secluded at Brixton Street, sits LOCAVORE - an up and coming gastropub in Barrio Kapitolyo, Pasig City.

LOCAVORE - means a person who makes an effort to eat food that is grown, raised or produced locally.

The industrial design of Locavore is invitingly homey and cozy that it gives out an unintimidating vibe. It's like you never have to worry about a fab OOTD, you can come as you are and all you have to worry about is what to stuff your tummy with and not your perfect selfie angle! It's like C-----L, but so much more upscale!

The place was packed on a Thursday night!

Barely open for a month but the service is like they've been around for quite a while. Locavore is Filipino themed with a twist! The pub boasts of serving THE BEST LOCALLY CRAFTED BEER IN TOWN - JOES' BREW.

Sierra Madre - One of Joes' Brew Beers. Worth a try! (P210)

The bar opens at 5PM where HAPPY HOUR starts! Dear beer lover friends, they have a BUY 1 TAKE 1 promo on SMB Pale Pilsen and San Mig Light. Even the cocktails come in pairs up until 9'oclock. With that in mind, I decided to try two cocktails:

DIWATA - a mix of house infused ginger gin and cranberry. Tastes bitter and sweet.

PERLAS - a mix of Don Papa/Melon/Bukidnon/Pineapple/Calamansi. This one is a treat! Aside from the cute presentation, it does taste good.

While the drinks are delightful, it's a must for us foodies to try their menu. Here are some of my favorites:

FRIED OYSTER SISIG - their bestselling and best tasting sisig I've tasted so far. Just make sure you eat it on a full stomach. Crunchy yet soft, I enjoyed it even more with Sukang Pinakurat.

STREET FOOD PLATTER - the staple Filipino street food like fishballs, kikiam, kwek kwek and squidballs served on a mini-frying pan - hot and fresh.

And this, ladies and gentlemen takes home the award for the best food ever on their menu:

KILAWIN PLATTER - your choice of three kinds of KILAWIN. I ordered Tanigue, Tuna and Shrimp Kilawin and each of them are to die for! Not too sour with melt in your mouth goodness, They put just the right flavor to a well loved Filipino "pulutan" - Hats off to the Chef!

For those of you who are looking for a "tambayan" not just on weekends, LOCAVORE (http://instagram.com/locavore.ph) is where you need to be. The right blend of upbeat music, modern design and traditional Filipino cuisine gives one more reasons to loosen up and totally enjoy.

Wait, there's more! If you don't mind a little celebrity sighting then feel like a star drinking and dining with the stars. Actors like Luis Alandy, Marvin Agustin and Danita Paner were some of the celebrities we spotted at the place.

That's me with part-owner and friend Tanya Garcia - Lapid :-)

So what are you waiting for? Check out LOCAVORE located at 10 Brixton Street, Barrio Kapitolyo, Pasig City. Follow them on Instagram: http://instagram.com/locavore.ph and don't forget to hashtag #locavoreph to let them know how you enjoyed the food and the experience. Presently, they open at 5PM and close at 12midnight. Last call for food orders are at 10:30 PM. For inquiries and reservations, call : 02.632.9600

Happy Hour is from 5PM till 9PM. BUY ONE TAKE ONE on SMB, SML and Cocktails.

Rolled Into One Mom gives this place a TWO THUMBS UP!

P.S.
Locavore is currently on soft opening but will be serving lunch to customers before the year ends! :-)
